Universitas Negeri Padang has a commitment to play an active role in reducing carbon dioxide emissions. This
is illustrated in several policies such as the application of parking fees, the design of buildings with ventilation
and natural lighting, and the transition of electrically powered lamps to solar lights, which is a renewable
energy. Some of these policies, although not yet one hundred percent implemented, have shown a reduction
in the number of carbon footprints at Universitas Negeri Padang, which in 2021 dropped significantly
compared to a few years ago. Other factors that support the reduction of UNP’s carbon footprint in 2021 are
government policies related WFH followed by the UNP Rector’s policy to implement WFH for Lecturers and
Educators; and online learning for students (50%)
